Apple Rejects Games with Realistic Guns Models

As such models promote violence.

Developers have reported that Apple has been rejecting games featuring realistic weapon models from being released on its Apple Vision Pro. One developer, under the name of AkDebuging, shared their complaint about the restriction, with Apple citing concerns about the games promoting illegal behavior due to realistic weapon images.

Here are the screenshots of the banned game posted by the developer as evidence of Apple's decision.

"We noticed that your app includes realistic depictions of weapons," stated Apple.

Users on Reddit were extremely shocked and disturbed by Apple's actions, stating that buying Apple's headset and paying a fortune for it, only to find a lack of good games featuring realistic guns, is insane.

"They're going to kill gaming because of their stubbornness and they'll have nothing driving the platform and ecosystem," wrote one user.

However, sometime later Apple reviewed the game once more and reportedly allowed it to exist without any changes, which is good news for developers.

Well, this isn't the first time Apple has tried to reject such games. In March, developer rodrigotakase faced a ban from Apple similar to others. To meet the company's rules, he replaced realistic weapon models with toy versions to get the game approved for Apple Vision Pro. After this change, the app was allowed into the App Store, with no additional modifications made by the developer.

It seems that the restriction on realistic weapon images only pertains to games for Apple Vision Pro, as many apps with such visuals are allowed on iPhone, iPad, and Mac devices.
