Artist Demonstrates a "Very Cursed Way of Weight Painting" in Blender

The approach lets its author set up impressive folds with just three bones.

Createll, a 3D Artist specializing in VTuber character modeling, has recently gone viral on Twitter for showcasing an impressive setup, described as a "very very cursed way of weight painting" by the author themselves.

According to Createll, the innovative technique uses just three auto-weight bones to create detailed folds on 3D models, demonstrated by Createll setting up lifelike skin pleats for one of their digital characters. Createll achieved this setup using Blender, a free and open-source software for 3D modeling, texturing, rendering, animation, and VFX.

Going forward, Createll considers providing more insights regarding the setup in the form of a series of short videos, so we highly encourage you to follow the artist on Twitter so as not to miss any future updates.
