Assassin's Creed, Resident Evil & Death Stranding Fail to Sell on iPhones

Seems like not many players want to pay half of a PC game price.

The mobile game industry is much more popular than you might think, there's a huge demand for good titles you can play on the road or just chilling on your bed. Alas, Apple's recent campaign porting AAA games such as Assassin's Creed, Resident Evil, and Death Stranding on iPhone 15, 15 Pro, Pro Max, and iPads seems to have failed.

As reported by Mobile Gamer, based on Appfigures and Appmagic estimates, Assassin’s Creed Mirage has been downloaded approximately 123,000 to 279,000 times, but only 3,000 to 5,750 people actually paid $49.99 to unlock the full game. Resident Evil 4 didn't show better results: only 7,000 players purchased the title for $29.99, according to Appfigures, while Appmagic estimates 15,000 users. Resident Evil Village was bought by around 5,750 (Appfigures) to 34,000 (Appmagic) players.

As for the $20 Death Stranding, it has reportedly been downloaded by 10,600 to 23,000 and earned approximately $212,000 to $348,000, the firms suggest.

"These figures are far from a success, especially when compared to the sales achieved by AAA games on their primary platforms," said Appmagic head of content Andrei Zubov. He also added that premium indie games on phones usually cost $5-10.

"This price range aligns better with the average spending habits of mobile gamers. This likely explains why these games find it easier to expand into the mobile gaming market and why AAA releases are underperforming."

They just got to wait for Iphones 17, and up. Most people dont upgrade to new iphone every year, and I guarantee that sooner or later Backbone+iphone combo will rise against steamdeck and similar devices. Especially that Steam link and geforce now, exist
