Check Out This SNES-Era Style Pixelated JRPG with Dual Protagonists

The game supports both single-player and co-op modes.

The developer of Shrine's Legacy, a 16-bit pixelated JRPG, has unveiled captivating footage showcasing the Sand Seas, a unique locale where sand flows like water. This glimpse compels us to dig deeper into this coming indie game.

Shrine's Legacy transports you to the magical world of Ardemia. You'll follow heroes Rio and Reima as they unite the elements of magic, restore the Sword of Shrine, and save the world. As a dark shadow looms over Ardemia, the duo must retrieve the Sword's eight elemental gems of magic and aid numerous denizens along the way, all while playing in single-player or co-op mode.

Drawing influence from the best SNES classics, Shrine's Legacy offers an action RPG experience filled with real-time battles and a robust combat and equipment system. As part of a heroic duo, you'll always have a companion by your side, controlled either by the game or a friend in co-op, as you explore a vast world.

Through some other recent footage shared on X/Twitter by the indie studio Positive Concept Games, we could get to know the game better about its maps, features, combats, and more. Check them out:

The game is slated for a launch later this year. You can already wishlist the game or try out its demo on Steam if it looks interesting to you and follow the developer on Twitter to be informed of future updates from the game.
