Experience Seamless Shapeshift in This Hack & Slach Action Rogue-Lite

Hey, is that a ninja robot?

Morbid Metal, an Action Rogue-lite game, recently unveiled a brand-new gameplay trailer, showing off an adrenaline-fueled gameplay experience.

“Morbid Metal is a Hack 'n' Slash, Action Rogue-lite, where you can shapeshift into unique characters to slaughter enemies with powerful combos.”

The game's mechanics are straightforward. Players select their team of up to four characters, each endowed with stylish, unique active abilities, and dive into the action. You can rapidly switch between four different characters in real time, creating a stylish onslaught against enemies. Each vanquished enemy and cleared level makes your team stronger, by unlocking significant upgrades and introducing new battle techniques. However, falling in battle means losing all progress.

Recently, the game was featured in the Games Made in Germany Stream 2024, giving us a 14-minute showcase of brand-new gameplay, as well as the developer's story behind the project, like how the development team grew from solo dev to sixteen people at its peak time:

Back in 2021's GDC Showcase, Unity spotlighted a number of games developed using its 3D platform, including Morbid Metal. Felix, the Game Director and founder of Screen Juice, who was formerly the solo developer of the game, shared his journey and experience with Unity in the showcase, offering a first look at the game (starting around the 11-minute mark).
