The highly-anticipated Riven Remake has finally been released today, accompanied by a special 10% discount offer that ends on July 10th.
Riven, originally launched in 1997, is the sequel to Myst. Both games share a similar ethos, revolving around the explorer Atrus who has the unique ability to write books that create links to other worlds. Riven carries on the narrative, tasking players with freeing Atrus's wife.
In this reimagined version which was announced back in 2022, players can immerse themselves in a dreamlike landscape and solve puzzles with careful observation in order to unravel the mysteries that lie ahead.

The game runs in both standard and VR modes. The developer Cyan initially attempted to incorporate the original Riven's models into the remake. However, they discovered that their resolution was too low. As a result, they decided to reconstruct the world using the Unreal Engine. Despite the game being released just today, we're seeing players commenting that the experience of the VR mode is "very surreal."
