James and Dave Franco to Work on a Masters of Doom TV Show

Masters of Doom, a 2003 book about the creation of the legendary Doom and the work of John Carmack and John Romero appears to be making its way to TV screens thanks to the Franco brothers.

Variety states that USA Network has ordered a pilot based on the book, with James and Dave Franco acting as executive producers. The plot will be managed by Gears of War 4 lead writer Tom Bissell, who will also be one the team as an executive producer.

Actually, Masters of Doom might become the first part in an anthology about “seminal moments in videogame history.” Little is know about casting, but it would be so cool to see James Franco, the one whole portrayed Tommy Wiseau, play Romero.

Romero has also confirmed that her husband is not directly involved in the announced project, but he thinks the idea is pretty cool.
