Original Contra Recreated as a Third-Person Shooter with 3D Graphics

The original Contra, the classic side-scrolling run-and-gun game by Konami, holds a special place in many players’ gaming memories. The game was an exciting adventure that needed fast reactions, accurate shooting, and above all, the ability to remember how enemies attack and move.

Contra Reforged is a fan-developed version of the much-loved Contra, reimagined with a 3D graphic and as a third-person shooter. Check out this gameplay footage first: 

Currently, Contra Reforged is in its early stages of development and offers a preview of the game's first level. You are transported into an 8-bit-styled world where you must leap, sprint, and fire at enemies, turrets, and a formidable wall fortress.

Despite being in its early stages, with only one level and no power-ups available as of now, Contra Reforged successfully captures the essence of the original game and it even has a cheat code. The gameplay is smooth, the difficulty level is challenging, and the visual design stands out. If you are a fan of the original game, you should give it a try.
