Sonic's Shadow Imagined as John Wick in a Gorgeous Stylized Animation

TheMathewFlames has made one of the smoothest Blender-made fighting sequences you've ever seen.

TheMathewFlames, a well-known 2D Animator and YouTuber, who's currently learning the ropes of 3D animation, went viral earlier this week for unveiling what is perhaps one of the smoothest combat sequences you've ever laid your eyes upon.

Featuring stunning stylized VFX, impressive character and environment shaders, and moments reminiscent of Spider-Verse with an intentionally lowered framerate, the animation portrays Sonic the Hedgehog's Shadow as John Wick in an adrenaline-pumping battle against a group of robots. Inspired by Keanu Reeves lending his voice to Shadow in the upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog 3 movie, the sequence was set up in Blender and, according to the author, is only a small snippet from a larger animation, currently WIP.

We highly encourage you to visit TheMathewFlames' Twitter and YouTube pages to stay updated on the Shadow Wick project and check out more of the artist's awesome animations.

And if you'd like to learn more about creating Spider-Verse-like shaders in Blender, here are some great tutorials that will help you get started:
