Stylized Shooting Competition Animation Inspired by the 2024 Olympics

The sequence was inspired by "cyberpunk sharpshooter" Kim Ye-ji and "Turkish John Wick" Yusuf Dikeç.

While the 2024 Olympic Games ended over a month ago, the memes they gave birth to continue to live on, enduring through the online community's creativity, fan art, and even 3D animations, such as this one unveiled recently by 3D Animator and Character Modeler known as Boriluwa.

Dubbed "25m Pistol," Boriluwa's humorous sequence imagines a variety of stylized video game and movie characters competing in a shooting event using their iconic weapons – Isaac Clarke wielding his plasma cutter, the Doom Slayer bringing out the BFG 9000, stormtroopers missing their blaster pistol shots, etc.

According to the artist, the project was particularly inspired by "cyberpunk sharpshooter" Kim Ye-ji and "Turkish John Wick" Yusuf Dikeç, two athletes who went viral and made headlines following Paris 2024's shooting events.

Although it wasn't explicitly stated by the creator, the animation was most likely set up using Blender, a free and open-source 3D software and a program Boriluwa is known to be proficient with. We highly encourage you to visit the artist's Twitter and YouTube pages to see more of their stylized character animations.
