As App Annie states there isn’t much difference in this year’s top ten compared to 2014. Still some companies are worth mentioning: Mixi, Netmarble and the debut of NetEase.
Geographical breakdown is not that surprising, East Asia’s companies hold their positions, taking 28 of 52 spots.
Spotify, Pandora and InterActiveCorp (IAC) were among the 13 newcomers worth mentioning. As the researcher states their debuts are quite obvious due to smart choice of monetization models.
This research is based on revenue earned from paid downloads and in-app purchases. Numbers from in-app purchasing and revenue generated outside app store channels are not included.
