Playwood Project Aps is building an incredibly good-looking strategy, under the helm of Michael Rud Jakobsen (Kane and Lynch 2, Hitman).
Their debut project WARTILE actually draws a lot from classical board games. You control a small band of figures by picking them up and placing them on the miniature battle map! It’s like a game of chess without turns. Each figure has special attributes and abilities that counter each other. It forces you to strategically plan your moves and gain advantage to beat enemy players. The project aimed at PC and tablets.
The game had an amazing visual style. It’s got heavily stylized and it does look like a tabletop game. The devs use Unreal Engine 4 to create the project and the technology works great. The levels have a sort of a miniature look, that will definitely keep your attention.
