My name is Matéo MARIE, and I have just completed my studies in Animation and VFX at ESMA Toulouse.

Passionate about technological advancements and cinema, I found my calling in R&D and the creation of FX, as well as developing optimization and automation tools for my graduation film.

I am thrilled to present to you the USD pipeline that we have developed in collaboration with Raphaël GIMARD.

This pipeline has been successfully used in our graduation films at ESMA, titled "Spurs Out" and "Ratzia".

We have made a document that outlines the research and implementation process of a USD pipeline for the creation of a 3D animated short film. The pipeline is centered around SideFX's SOLARIS, the dispatcher Tractor, and the rendering engine Renderman, while also integrating other software such as Maya and Substance Painter.

Additionally, we delve into the functionality of Python scripts that we have developed to streamline our workflows.

We are excited to share these resources with you and engage in discussions about our experience.

My involvement in the creation of my graduation film extended far beyond the pipeline. I took charge of the entire FX process, developing tools and templates to automate and optimize tasks and workflows within my team.

I also played an essential role in the texturing, lighting, and compositing of the film.

This project allowed me to showcase my passion for innovation and problem-solving. I developed custom solutions that streamlined our creative process. The goal was to free up time for my team to focus more on creativity and artistic expression.

In essence, my graduation film serves as a showcase of my skills in special effects, texturing, lighting, compositing, and tool development. I'm excited to continue my career by exploring new ways to merge technology and art within exciting projects.
