14 Million Copies of Red Dead Redemption Shipped

Rockstar San Diego’s beloved Western epic, Red Dead Redemption, had 14 million units officially shipped out according to game publisher Take-Two Interactive.

Just last year the figure was at 13 million, so it’s a decent jump in just one year. However, the figure doesn’t seem to include Undead Nightmare and only includes the base game.

For fans of the series who wanted a sequel, it looks highly likely that it will happen. Last year Take-Two Interactive’s CEO, Strauss Zelnick, referred to the original game as part of a “permanent franchise” and recently Rockstar San Diego has been working on an unknown project that will include ‘dynamic multiplayer’. There was also a listing for an animation programmer on this secret project, and it specifically stated that it will release onto Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

Though there is still no official word, as time progresses all the evidence leads to a sequel. Let’s keep our eyes open shall we?
