Chukasoba Pho’s was inspired by Asian gastronomy. The combination of urban and industrial elements with gastronomy has always been captivating, especially those typical ramen restaurants in alleys or the mini street food stalls in Korea. This project combines the idea of a subway with gastronomy. Initially, the concept was to merge a restaurant with a laundry, but that idea was discarded to better emphasize the warm colors of the restaurant against the cold tones of the subway. The biggest challenge was blending colors and lights to guide the viewer's eye to the intended focal points.
"The idea of this project was not to create a playable experience. Even so, I tried to include impressive details in every corner—from the dirt in the crevices and decorations on the walls to the food in the pots and pans and the TV with its LED system that I developed. All of this lets you explore a restaurant with a life of its own.", stated the artist.
For model creation and texturing, Autodesk Maya and Substance Painter were used, top tools in both the video game and film industries. For compositing and rendering, Unreal Engine, a leading engine known for its versatility and high-quality results, was chosen. For post-processing and image compositing, DaVinci Resolve and Photoshop were utilized.
