Marcel DeJong is a technical team lead for Autodesk Media and Entertainment. He actually runs a very sweet blog here, where he publishes a lot of stuff about Maya usage. But today we want to show one of his videos, where he shows some interesting stuff you can do with Maya and Arnold. He managed to put over 620,000,000 polys in a very dense forest scene and render it all in just over 10 minutes. It’s a very complex and detailed render: each individual pine needle has a shadow representation here.

It’s a great video for someone, who does a lot of complex rendering in Arnold. It’s got a lot of little tips and tricks. Probably not for the beginners, but it’s amazing for a pro.
