A Cute Stylized World Made From Houdini-Generated Assets

The scene's buildings, scaffolding, walls, rope bridges, and watermelon plants are fully generated.

Technical Artist Hicham Ouchan, who just recently demonstrated a neat Houdini/Unreal-powered generator for creating medieval buildings, impresses us for the second time this week with Watermelon World, a cute stylized environment with warm summer vibes, which was, for the most part, generated with Houdini. According to the artist, the scene's buildings, scaffolding, walls, rope bridges, and watermelon plants were all generated in Houdini and tweaked in Unreal Engine. Additionally, the author utilized ZBrush and Substance 3D Painter to create some of the props by hand.

"I started a project where I wanted to see if I can create a Building generator that creates a various amount of buildings and where the artist can have full control over the stylization of the building," comments the creator.
