A Talk on Crafting Environments for Battlefield V

We’ve recently posted an article about an event at Gnomon on the environment art of Battlefield V and now we can all watch a recording of the session.

Watch Crafting Environments of Battlefield V: An Evening with DICE LA from Gnomon_School on www.twitch.tv

We have to thank Guilherme Rambelli for sharing the link. The artist and his team went to Crete, Greece in order to scan a variety of assets to use for the creation of the map called Mercury, for Battlefield V Live Service.

Rambelli states that he created all nature assets (cliffs, rocks, ridges, etc.) excluding vegetation, and worked with Kyle Nikolich (Sr. Tech Art) on the Destructible Architectural assets for the level.

Check out the recording to learn how Rambelli and three of his co-workers from DICE LA built their workflow behind creating a large-scale Battlefield map.

I was so impressed with the Mercury map and really appreciate the effort and detail put in by the team. Excellent work all round and I look forward to what comes next
