Adobe Announces The Substance 3D Collection

Meet the overhauled collection of the Substance suite featuring new tools.

Adobe has launched Substance 3D Collection, a new version of its Substance Suite that widens the possibilities of material creation tools to support other general tasks.

The new suite features Substance Designer, Substance Painter, and Substance Alchemist (will now be called Substance 3D Sampler), plus introduces Substance 3D Stager, a new scene layout and rendering tool. There's also a VR sculpting app called Substance Modeler which is currently available in private beta.

Adobe thinks that the overhaul of the Substance 3D Collection will "inspire a brand new generation of designers". It is worth noting that the launch marks the complete integration of the Substance tools into Adobe’s product line-up adding new Photoshop-style logos for Substance tools.

The overhauled suite is also said to improve integration between the individual applications bringing new buttons to send assets from one to another.

For individual artists, Substance 3D Texturing subscriptions cost $19.99/month or $219.88/year (individual artists). You can also get Substance 3D Collection with other tools for $49.99/month or $549.88/year. As for perpetual licences, the team noted that Painter and Designer will still be available via Steam.
