Scantastic allows creating a 3D model of the real object in a matter of minutes using a photogrammetry approach.

Adobe has revealed the details of its experimental project on creating a photo scanning 3D tool for AR and other 3D experiences. Nikhil Gupta from Adobe’s team showed how the new solution allows to create a 3D model from a bunch of photos, bring inside the dimension, and align as needed. Adobe Capture prototype analyses the environment and then create a bounding box that users can widen the box to automatically bound the whole model by moving the device.

After the bounding is completed, the prototype starts the capturing process with a net of stations in a way to get high-quality results. Users can also see the progress to avoid missing some angles. After the processing, all images will be saved in creative cloud libraries and turn into a complete 3D model that can be added to the scene within Adobe or sent to other users in Adobe Aero.
