Africa Games Week is the largest gathering of African Game Developers in the world, with over 150 developers from across the continent gathering in one place. The conference takes place from 8th till 10th of December.
Over the past 3 years, Africa Games Week has become a destination event for African & International Indie game developers and C-level Executives from across the world. Companies such as PlayStation, Ubisoft, Unity, Nintendo, Sega, Focus, Devolver, Landfall, and many others come together, meet and plan for future projects.
With the backdrop of Cape Town’s Table Mountain during South Africa’s breath-taking summer season, the event certainly is the place to be.
Africa Games Week founders, Nick Hall (Interactive Entertainment SA) and Rex Bowden (Catalyze) collaborated back in 2018 in order to outline their goals for the event.

Africa Games Week 2020 - Digital had phenomenal reach last year, allowing African Game Developers who usually cannot afford to fly to Cape Town, to gain the ability to be involved and connect with game industry experts and thought leaders from across the globe. Going DIGITAL widened the scope of the event, now set to be a HYBRID affair, reaching the entire industry, whether physical or virtual.
Africa Games Week 2021 is set for 8-10 December and will occur live and be filmed, edited, and interlaced with online streams showcased virtually on the event platform.
