Analyst Believes Apple Will Not Release AR Glasses Before 2026

The device will use metalens technology.

Well-known tech analyst Ming-Chi Kuo shared their beliefs concerning Apple's AR glasses, saying we should not expect them to be produced before 2026. According to the post on Medium, the company is working on the metalens technology that will be used for the device and replace plastic lenses in iPhones and iPads.

Metalenses are a flat lens technology that uses metasurfaces to focus light. Kuo says Apple will start producing them in 2024, and the tech will gradually replace the plastic lens of existing cameras.

Going back to AR glasses, they should be mass-produced in 2026 or 2027 at the earliest. Before that, reports say Apple's AR/VR headset is expected to launch this June, and if they are successful, "metalens shipments are expected to explode".

For now, this is speculation, but it looks promising, so stay tuned for more news, read the information on Medium, and don't forget to join our 80 Level Talent platform and our Telegram channel, follow us on Instagram and Twitter, where we share breakdowns, the latest news, awesome artworks, and more.
