Apple and Epic Games Are Heading Back to Court for Another Trial

The new trial will take place in May.

If you think the fight between Apple and Epic Games is over, you are mistaken. The new trial is set to begin on May 8, where Epic Games will try to explain and prove that Apple violated the court order.

The initial order required Apple to modify App Store payment rules, allowing developers to include links to alternative payment methods in their apps. While Apple complied with the order, there were some discrepancies, such as imposing commissions ranging from 12% to 27% on developers who opted for alternative payment methods.

Epic Games argues that Apple's actions created a false sense of choice for developers, and the ban on alternative payment methods for multi-platform apps directly contradicts the court order.

Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers will preside over the renewed dispute between Apple and Epic Games.
