ArenaNet Is Supposedly Working on Guild Wars 3

The new unannounced title is apparently being built on Unreal Engine 5 and is said to feature "multiplayer storytelling" with various interactions and dialogue scenes.

Guild Wars developer ArenaNet is working on a new unannounced title which may be the next Guild Wars.

Judging by a job opening recently posted on ArenaNet’s website, the project is currently in a pre-production stage so the release will not take place any time soon. Although the job description does not explicitly mention the Guild Wars series, the company clarified that the title will be based on "an established online fantasy IP" and will be apparently powered by Unreal Engine 5.

The title is also said to be focused on a "multiplayer storytelling experience" featuring dialogue scenes and other interactions with important characters.

End of Dragons, a major expansion for Guild War 2, was released in February and was well-received by the fans of the game. Following this, the developer confirmed that it is working on the next expansion for the game, although it noted that it will take "a very long time to develop."

The next expansion for Guild Wars 2 will most likely be released much earlier than this unannounced project that ArenaNet is currently working on. It remains to be seen whether this new title is indeed a part of the Guild War series or it is a new project based on someone else’s existing MMO IP.
