Most of the Asian games market revenue comes from Japan and South Korea, while India is currently the fastest-growing market.

Niko Partners has released a new report dedicated to the Asian games market. The study covers 10 regions: Chinese Taipei, India, Indonesia, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thai, and Vietnam.

The research reveals that mobile and PC games revenue in Asia is set to reach $35.9 billion by the end of 2022 and by 2026, it is projected to grow to $41.4 billion.

According to the report, 77% of revenue this year was generated by two countries – Japan and South Korea. At the same time, in 2022, Japan's revenue decreased by 2.6% year-on-year, while South Korea's result remained flat compared to 2021.

Meanwhile, India was the fastest-growing market in 2022 – its revenue increased by 31.9% compared to last year. It was followed by the Indonesian games market with 10.5% year-on-year growth and Thailand whose revenues grew by 9.5%.

In addition, India currently has the second largest gamer base in the world, with 396.4 million gamers, which makes up 50.2% of all gamers in the top ten Asian markets.

Niko Partners claims that the number of players is growing faster than revenue. The firm projects that by the end of 2022, there will be 788.7 million players in the ten regions, and by 2026, this number will grow to 1.06 billion.
