Autodesk Ships Maya Creative

The new software brings sophisticated animation, modeling, and rendering tools for a more affordable price.

Following the release of Maya 2023.2, Autodesk also launched Maya Creative, a more flexible and affordable version of Maya with powerful modeling, animation, rigging, and rendering tools. With Maya Creative, you can set up lifelike animations, build detailed 3D models, and render high-quality 3D images using a comprehensive toolset that will be familiar to Maya users.

The new software, however, lacks simulation tools and the ability to load third-party plug-ins. As Autodesk puts it, "Maya software provides tools for a wide range of tasks such as motion graphics, dynamics, simulation, and FX, while Maya Creative offers professional 3D tools including animation, rigging, modeling, and rendering." You can find the detailed comparison of the two by clicking this link.

Maya Creative is only available through Autodesk Flex, the company's pay-as-you-go option, for one token, or $3, a day. Please note that you can only purchase a minimum of $300 worth of tokens at a time.
