AYANEO Introduces Its Next-Gen Handheld Console Next II

AYANEO's new device is set to be more powerful than Valve's PC portable Steam Deck.

On June 29, the Chinese company AYANEO introduced its brand-new portable console, Next II, a successor to their previous handheld gaming console. The key feature of the device is said to be the presence of mobile discrete graphic cards with users allowed to choose either Intel or AMD.

The manufacturer will release at least two Next II models. In the base configuration, they will receive a 12th generation Intel Alder Lake processor and Arc dGPU or AMD Ryzen 6000 CPU and Radeon 6000 series dGPU. Other characteristics of the gadget are still unknown but as website VideoCardz suggests that due to the size of the console and its current design, it will likely have the ACM-G11 GPU and would possibly feature up to 8 Xe-Cores.

The company positions the device as an analog of Steam Deck. AYANEO assures that the console will be able to support modern demanding games, including running them at high settings. The console will also get trackpads similar to Valve's portable PC which implies that the device might have good support for Deck-certified games.

The pricing for Next II is currently unknown but as VideoCardz noted, the gadget is targeting a premium segment compared to the rest of the manufacturer's lineup, so its price is likely to exceed $1,000. AYANEO said it will share more details about the console in the near future.
