Bethesda Is Retiring Its Launcher and Moving to Steam

The migration will include the games and Wallet and will start in April.

Bethesda announced it will be closing its Launcher and migrating to Steam. The company promised all users' games will be moved to Steam along with Wallet. The migration process will start in early April, but the players will be able to play games from the Launcher until May.

If you're worried about your in-game progress, Bethesda assures that many game saves will automatically transfer to Steam, although some may require manual copying. Despite the move, you will still need your Bethesda.net account.

It's hard to say for sure what instigated the move back to Steam, but it might have something to do with Microsoft's acquisition of ZeniMax, Bethesda's parent company. If you have any questions about the migration, check out the FaQ here.
