Blender 2.82 Released

Blender 2.82, the new version of the open-source 3D toolkit, is now available.

The update brings a new unified fluid simulation toolset, adds UDIM support, USD export, and adopts the VFX Reference Platform.

First, it integrates the open-source fluid simulation framework mantaflow, co-developed by graphics researcher Nils Thuerey, which makes setting up gaseous and liquid simulations quite easy.

There's also a new FLIP solver for liquid simulations. Users can now recreate more complex real-world effects (spray, foam, bubbles, and more.

What is more, cloth simulation tools have also been updated adding support for internal air pressure and internal springs, so it's now easier to simulate balloons and soft bodies.
