Learn what's new in the latest upgrade.
The latest update brings over 1250 bugfixes providing the performance and stability needed for major projects. As for new features, the new version introduces VR support, OpenVDB import, OptiX viewport denoising, and a powerful new physics-enabled Cloth Brush.
First, OpenVDB files can now be imported and rendered with the new Volume object. "Files may be generated by Blender’s fluid simulation cache or even other software such as Houdini," noted the team.
Blender has entered the VR market introducing scene inspection allowing users to walk around scenes in virtual reality directly within Blender.
What is more, Cycles now supports denoising inside the Blender viewport with NVIDIA OptiX AI-Accelerated Denoiser as well as in final renders.
Another cool feature is the ability to sculpt cloth with the new Cloth Brush. It's a new built-in physics solver that automatically creates natural-looking folds.
