Blender USD Plug-In 1.0 Released

The stable version of USD Hydra plug-in is available for free.

AMD released the stable version of the Blender USD plug-in. It allows users to assemble USD using a node-based workflow in Blender. Unlike the first build, the new plug-in now supports Blender 3.0.

Despite their focus on the USD-based plug-ins, AMD promised to support the 'classic' plug-ins by posting bug fixes and updating them to a new version of the Radeon ProRender SDK.

In addition, Maya received its own plug-in, Radeon ProRender for Maya – USD v0.1 now only supports viewport rendering.
