CD Projekt's 2020 Revenue Beats Their Previous Full-Year Record

Cyberpunk 2077 developers managed to beat all the sales records achieved with Witcher 3.

CD Projekt Red announced two numbers from their upcoming annual earnings report, and the numbers show, how big 2020 was for the company. With their December release of Cyberpunk 2077, CDPR managed to beat their previous revenue records set by releasing Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

For the full year, CD Projekt brought in a record $562 million in sales revenues. That number is more than four times what it reported for 2019, and more than two-and-a-half times the company's previous record of $210 million, set in 2015 with the launch of The Witcher 3.

The company set a bottom-line record as well, reporting a net profit of $303 million. That more than triples the company's previous profit record of $89.8 million, also set in 2015.

The company's success is even more staggering if we consider the fact that Witcher 3 was released in May and had months to gather profits for the company in 2015, while Cyberpunk 2077 was released in December and felt like an underdeveloped game at the time, which even caused its removal from PlayStation Store.

All things considered, it is fair to congratulate the company on its success. CD Projekt expects to announce its final results for last year on April 22.
