This summer British TV broadcaster Channel 4 is to open a mobile games division where they will create their own content while offering publishing services to third-party developers.

All 4 Games, the new mobile games division for Channel 4, is based in their Glascow office. It will be headed by Colin MacDonald who currently is the commissioning editor for games for Channel 4. He is a co-founder of Realtime Worlds and is a DMA Design (now known as Rockstar North) Veteran. The new division is made up of a 4 person team, the goal of All 4 Games is to help British developers in the market of mobile games.

With over 1.5 million apps for users to choose from now, discoverability has become the biggest problem facing mobile game developers, so it’s exciting to be able to do even more to support them and promote their amazing work to a wider audience.

Although Channel 4 made funding for video game projects available, it made a move of initiative by putting MacDonald into his position. All 4 Games is a big step forward to help indies.
