Comparing Cyberpunk 2077 Ray Tracing Modes

Digital Foundry showed the differences between the rasterized version of the game and the new path tracing mode.

Cyberpunk 2077’s Ray Tracing: Overdrive Mode is available from April 11, introducing path tracing, or full ray tracing, that accurately simulates light throughout an entire scene. Digital Foundry compared the new tech with the standard rasterized and Psycho ray tracing modes on RTX 4090.

As NVIDIA has shown before, the Technology Preview looks more alive and realistic with path tracing, even better than with the old ray tracing mode. The shadows and reflections are now displayed right, with light bouncing around the scene to impressively replicate what happens to it in real life.
