Doesn't they say the same thing about photography when it was emerging? ;)

Agreed. This is just depressing and is a detriment to society. If this keeps advancing at its current rate, good art will be so trivial to generate that it won't be special anymore. Art will slowly morph into a banal distraction, with creating an original piece being as easy as applying an Instagram filter. The role of the human artist will change from a craftsperson to someone who picks a bunch of parameters, gives it to the AI, and chooses the best output. This type of technology is a threat to the very existence of art as a craft, will completely devalue artwork, and will make the journey of training to become an artist obsolete. I hate these researchers for what they're doing to a field that I love.

I disagree. There will always be demand for real artists. Like any other digital software, this is just a tool with the possibility to help artists create compelling worlds faster and add realism that would otherwise have taken days to make using other methods. As a 3D character artist, I would love to use this to create quick backdrops to place my characters in to enhance final renders.

The Remedy team has presented Control, it’s new game previously known asP7, at Sony’s live PlayStation E3 2018 showcase. The game has been first shown during Sony’s conference, but it is still coming to Xbox One and PC, don’t be afraid.

Control: You are Jesse Faden, a young woman with a troubled past. You become the new Director of the Bureau of Control – Our frontline in researching and fighting against supernatural enemies like the Hiss threatening our very existence.

You’ll uncover the secret activities of the Bureau agents and explore the strange and shifting halls of the Bureau’s headquarters, The Oldest House. Unlock new abilities with Objects of Power and upgrade your Service Weapon to take on bigger and more powerful enemies. Venture into lost sectors in the challenging Expeditions mode. Solve puzzles and complete quests to discover the secret of Jesse’s past and the true purpose of the Bureau of Control. Above all, you must defeat the relentless Hiss.

The game will be published by 505 Games as a part of an agreement with the developer.

This “third-person action-adventure game” mixed “Remedy’s trademark gunplay with supernatural abilities,” and it is set in “a unique and ever-changing world,” states the studio.

The team describes it as a sandbox style-game created with the proprietary Northlight engine, custom loadouts, and a “reactive world.”

Control will tell a tale of Jesse Faden from New York, director of a secretive agency “invaded by an otherworldly threat.”

The game is set to release in 2019, according to Remedy Games’ financial statements.
