Creating a 3D Stylized Girl in Leather Jacket in Substance Painter & ZBrush

The Wingfox school in collaboration with a 3D Generalist and Graphic Designer, Douglas Giarletti, has revealed a new tutorial that covers a step-by-step character creation process.

This tutorial was designed to teach the whole process of creating a 3D character focusing more on art and aesthetics. In this course, the mentor will showcase the workflow in ZBrush for blocking, 3ds Max for retopology, Unwrap Pro for UVs, Adobe Substance 3D Painter for texturing, and Vray for rendering and materials lighting. The instructor will also deep dive into the best practices for working with the Ornatrix plugin, showing multiple strategies for creating hair.

The course starts with a simple sphere creation process, then you'll produce the body structure and the clothes. After that, you'll make the retopology of the character followed by the UVs and textures in Adobe Substance 3D Painter. In the next step, the mentor will explain how to work with the skin, pores, and wrinkles to achieve a life-like effect and how to create stylized hair with the Ornatrix plugin. Finally, you'll learn how to work with lighting with Vray and 3ds Max and render the scene.
