Another stunning project by Pete Mc Nally.
3D generalist Pete Mc Nally showcased another tasty 3D project, this time it's a glazed pastry simulation, where the photorealistic bun is covered by white frosting made with LiquiGen, JangaFX's fluid simulation software.
The pastry was made from a scan and merged using Creality Scan and the SLS Otter scanner.
"I enhanced the captured detail in ZBrush and painted over base textures using Photoshop. Additional displacement was done in [Marmoset] Toolbag using concrete and peeling plaster height maps, and a dusting of powdered sugar was added using material layers and masks based from the normals of the scanned geo," the artist shared.
He praised LiquiGen's real-time fluid solver, saying it was quick to import collision geometry and simulate and iterate it in the software.
