Developer Demonstrates an Unreal-Made Tool For Creating Curvy Railings

Made using splines and instantiated meshes for a yet unannounced game.

Xekvera, an Indie Game Developer and the creative mind behind fast-paced roguelite FPS Voidborn, continues working on their new game project, offering one more behind-the-scenes look at the production process behind it.

Recently, the developer showcased a neat custom-made tool that enables them to easily create both regular and curved railings and fences, which Xekvera then integrates into the game's levels. Unfortunately, not much has been revealed about the tool's inner workings, with the author only disclosing that it was set up in Unreal Engine using splines and instantiated meshes, with plans for further improvements down the line.

The game Xekvera is currently developing has not been formally announced, leaving its genre, plot, and potential release window under wraps. According to the developer's Twitter posts, work on the project began around March 2024, and it will feature an atmospheric medieval town with Gothic and Thief-like aesthetics, either as its main setting or as one of the locations. Attached below are some of Xekvera's earlier showcases:
