Devolver Launches New Label for Licensed Indie Games

Publisher Devolver Digital announced that it is launching a new project – Big Fan Games, a brand new label for publishing licensed games based on the beloved film, TV, and comic universes. It provides developers with the opportunity to create original game adaptations using the worlds and characters of existing licensed franchises.

Curated by industry veterans, the project aims to "help independent game developers breathe new life into their favorite movies, comics, and TV shows." The team behind the project worked with such games and entertainment properties as Dune, Star Wars, Blade Runner, Lord of the Rings, Evil Dead, Blair Witch, The Power Rangers, and more. According to the label's creators, it is independent games that can explore the beloved worlds "in new and unexpected ways" and bring them closer to fans. The creators' work includes collaboration with teams at Disney, Dark Horse Comics, Rebellion, Lionsgate, and more. 

The label already has several games in its portfolio, including Hellboy Web of Wyrd, Reigns: Game of Thrones, and John Wick Hex. You can share your ideas on what franchises can be brought to the video game world or pitch your own game at the label's official website.
