The studio will first support the development of Battlefield 2042 and then work on a new project.
DICE LA will now be called Ripple Effect Studios, parent company Electronic Arts revealed. "We're so proud of our work as DICE LA and the DICE team will forever be a part of our DNA, but over the past eight years, we've developed our own culture and our own way of doing things," Ripple Effect GM Christian Grass wrote. "We're excited to look towards the future, expand the team and establish our own identity."
They've been planning the rebranding for some time after Respawn CEO Vince Zampella joined the studio as its head in January of 2020. The team is now working with DICE on Battlefield 2042, but they are also planning to work on their own project.
