Disney Continues to Lay Off the Fox Staff

The Walt Disney Company has decided to let go more employees at Wednesday: several dozen employees from the Fox team left the studio, according to Variety. It means that roughly 250 people have left the company since Disney acquired 21st Century Fox.

Speaking about the Fox specialists, Disney let go the head of visual effects John Kilkenny, executive VP of feature production Fred Baron, executive VP of physical production Dana Belcastro and executive VP of post-production Fred Chandler.

What is more, Disney wants to shut down the Fox Research Library on or before Jan. 6, 2020 and then fold the library’s contents into its own archives. The famous library has served as a resource for filmmakers and academics, featuring a valuable collection of 19th-century books, British newspapers, 1920s fashion magazines, a vast collection of materials on World War II, and more, which helped make classics like “The King and I,” “The Grapes of Wrath,” and “Titanic.”
