EA Is Excited about Koei Tecmo's Monster Hunting Game Wild Hearts

The company thinks the game is a "really cool opportunity" for it and the community.

EA's CEO Andrew Wilson shared his excitement about the upcoming monster hunting game Wild Hearts, saying it is innovative and incredible.

"The monster hunter genre is a relatively new genre. It exploded," he said during the company’s earnings call (via VGC). "It is ripe for innovation and creativity and expansion, and what we see the team doing is all of the things the community is asking for in the genre."

He also mentioned that the response from those who's already played the game has been "really strong": "I saw it and I think it’s incredible, the community saw it and they think it’s incredible."

While EA doesn't know the scale of the game and its success for sure, Wilson believes "there’s a path for this to be a really cool opportunity for us, for the development team and for the community at large."

Wild Hearts is developed by Omega Force, a division of Koei Tecmo that was behind the Dynasty Warriors series, in partnership with EA Originals. It is set in a fantasy world inspired by feudal Japan, where you'll need to use ancient tech to fight ferocious giant beasts infused with nature itself. You can play alone or with friends in co-op.

The game is set to be released on February 17 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X. Check it out on Steam and don't forget to join our Reddit page and our Telegram channel, follow us on Instagram and Twitter, where we share breakdowns, the latest news, awesome artworks, and more.
