Earthbreakers Revealed

Petroglyph announced Earthbreakers, a new hybrid of the first-person-shooter and real-time strategy genres that hopes to capture the spirit of Command & Conquer: Renegade.

For those of you unfamiliar with the studio's name, it was formed by former Westwood Studios talents in 2003. They've been releasing games for years, and their next goal is to bring back the good old Command & Conquer.

You will manage a team harvesting resources and building a base to fight "against opposing forces in a race to create better equipment and defenses and destroy the enemy headquarters."

The project is said to feature the iconic "boink" sound-effect and familiar vehicles harvesting resources to build improvements.

The team also reported that Frank Klepacki, the game composer behind sounds for dozens of Westwood Studios' old games, joined them to create music for Earthbreakers.

Earthbreakers is set for release in 2020. Stay tuned for more details, and don't forget to check out the game's page on Steam
