LogInYui released a new project.
Modder Yui, who created seamless co-op mods for Dark Souls III, Elden Ring, and Armored Core 6, released a similar project for the original Dark Souls game. The mod is currently in the alpha state, so it's not spared of bugs yet.
The mod allows you to play Dark Souls with friends cooperatively throughout the game without any restrictions. According to the modder, it's theoretically possible to complete the entire game up to the final boss in a single co-op session. All fog walls and barriers that typically limit the multiplayer area have been removed, and if a player dies, the session will continue, and they'll respawn at the last bonfire they rested at. Also, the NPC dialogues are synchronized.

The project also introduces a scaling system for every enemy, not only for the bosses as in the base game. The co-op mode supports up to six players in the open world.
