During its lifetime, Final Fantasy XV has sold over 10 million copies which makes it the fourth best-selling title in the franchise.
The sales of Final Fantasy XV have surpassed 10 million copies, Square Enix announced on Tuesday via Twitter thanking the fans for their "continued support".
The figure involves digital and physical sales of the game and includes total worldwide sales for both the original game and Final Fantasy XV: Royal Edition.
The game was first launched in November 2016 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One and is currently available across various other platforms including PC, Stadia, and mobile (via Final Fantasy XV: Pocket Edition).
During its lifetime, Final Fantasy XV has certainly performed well – on the first day after the launch, the game recouped Square Enix's full investment cost and sold 6 million units becoming the fastest-selling title in the franchise. In 2019, the publisher reported Final Fantasy XV sold 8.9 million copies.
The game is also one of the best-selling entries in the series to date. PS1 classic Final Fantasy VII sales are said to reach 13 million units, and both Final Fantasy X (original game and HD remasters) and MMO Final Fantasy XIV have also sold around 10 million copies.
