First Look at Amy Hennig's Marvel Game, Powered by Unreal Engine 5

Black Panther and Captain America return in Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra.

During Epic Games' State of Unreal, Skydance New Media and Marvel Games revealed Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra, an upcoming narrative-driven action-adventure game created with Unreal Engine 5.4.

The trailer teases the story of Captain America (Drew Moerlein), Black Panther (Khary Payton), the Wakandan spy Nanali (Megalyn Echikunwoke), and the Howling Commandos' soldier Gabriel Jones (Marque Richardson). Also, Lyne Renée plays Julie, an ally in the French Resistance, and Joel Johnstone appears as Howard Stark.

The graphics in the trailer will certainly catch your attention, Unreal Engine works its magic beautifully there, and Epic's MetaHuman characters look almost alive.

Speaking of, it has just been announced that MetaHuman Creator and Animator are now integrated into Unreal Editor for Fortnite, so Marvel 1943 is not the only experience that can boast realistic heroes.

Rise of Hydra will feature original music from the Grammy-awarded composer Stephen Barton, known for his work in movies, TV, and games, including Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, Star Trek Picard, Apex Legends, Titanfall, and 12 Monkeys.

Skydance New Media is led by award-winning writer and director Amy Hennig, the Creative Director and Lead Writer of the first three Uncharted games.

"Working with the MetaHuman process, we have been able to honour our amazing actors' performances and faithfully transform them into equally powerful digital performances," Hennig said (via Eurogamer).

Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra is scheduled for 2025 and will capture "the action, excitement, and globe-trotting adventure that has delighted fans for decades."
