Those animations look amazing!! Great job!

Very cool review of the making of Spellbreak. Would be even more cool to see some videos inside UE4 showing how they do a few very specific things unique to them.

This was so helpful for me. I'm hoping to adapt your tutorial to pull off something similar comparing modern satellite imagery with historical maps. No topo, so my steps should be simpler, but I'm a novice with Blender and you've really helped. Thanks!

11 December, 2018

Simon Thommes has recently released B’rn which is a free volumetric fire shader ready for animation. This goodie for Blender will let you create a fully volumetric fire with several options without any kinds of simulation.

  • No Simulation
  • Easy Setup
  • Variable Use
  • Looks Nice

1. Apply shader to a cube-like object
2. Enjoy

Simon Thommes

The file is built for Blender 2.8, but you can append the shader into 2.79 files as well.

You can learn more and get the pack on Gumroad.
