Gamescom 2020 Update

The conference will take place at the end of August in a digital format.

Coronavirus pandemic has definitely changed the plans of many of us. The lockdown has been followed by the postponement of such high conferences as GDC, E3, GTC, to name a few. However, there wasn’t any certain information on how Gamescom, which traditionally takes place in August in Germany, will be held this year.

According to Bild, a German news source, the German government has agreed on prolonging the ban of any major events until August 31. This means Gamescom cannot take place in Cologne this year. The organizers have already announced that the conference will take place digitally. More details are coming soon.
