GDC: Creating Strong Video Game Characters

How does one build a strong game character? A character who would be believable and inspiring? Check out another awesome GDC session by Jeremy Bernstein to answer these questions. Jeremy discussed some memorable game characters, like Gordon Freeman and Nathan Drake, to break down some of the key aspects of building outstanding heroes.  

In this 2014 GDC session, freelance writer Jeremy Bernstein dissects memorable characters in existing video games, address the unique challenges in establishing characters in games, and provide a framework for creating strong game characters that cover styles ranging from Portal to Dragon Age.
