Summer Game Fest 2022 will return this June with a Kickoff Live show promising an array of announcements and updates.
Hot on the heels of the E3 2022 cancellation of both its in-person and digital forms, Summer Game Fest host Geoff Keighley announced that the summer event will return this June.
Apart from confirming that the upcoming Summer Game Fest schedule remains uninterrupted, Keighley has also shared via Twitter that there will be a Kickoff Live show where the attendees should expect an array of announcements and updates and promised "some very cool new elements for '22" that will be disclosed in the coming weeks.
According to Summer Game Fest's official website, this year's event will feature "a slate of digital livestream shows ... filled with world premieres". Besides, the organizers noted that iam8bit and Double Fine will appear in the Days of the Devs segment.
The Summer Game Fest has always been a digital event and will apparently continue to be this year. There is a possibility that it’ll have a real-life venue in the future, although nothing of the kind has been announced.
Elden Ring
The exact dates when the event will take place have not been confirmed yet, and according to organizers, they will be announced in the weeks to come. Although if we take into account the past two years, it’ll possibly start mid-week and continue up to one of the weekends in the first half of June.
Last year's Game Fest saw plenty of major announcements, including Elden Ring's release date, Call of Duty Season 4's schedule, Gearbox’s announcement of Tiny Tina’s Wonderland, and more. Which developers and publishers will make an appearance this year is yet to be announced.
